The Past Brief
‘The Ike Leo Trio’. A trio made up of a changing selection of some the best of London’s Jazz musicians.
It started the Pretap regular music excursions at the then BRB bar in Gerrard Street, Soho, and brought Jazz music to an unsuspecting but very appreciative public, deep in the heart of China Town.

The musical brief at the start was straight ahead jazz playing a kind of swing, mainstream or bebop style, usually covering standards. Occasionally the trio is joined by a special guest on horn.
It then progresses on to special guests of varying musical genres joining in the proceedings thus changing the musical temperature and environment to whatever taste or style possible whilst retaining the highest standard of entertainment. Therefore anything musical or otherwise can happen.

The regular Wednesday event ran from 21 September 2005 until 14 December 2005 where the night had become so successful that the mood of the audience changed to more of a party atmosphere thus introducing funky band Oniva to satisfy the requirements.

However due to public demand and the need further the Jazz cause, The Ike Leo Trio returned in April of 2006 till December the same year on a Sunday with a similar brief to the original concept but with a bit more flexibility and a video camera.
