.....A
few years ago, session musician Ike Leo, who had worked with a host of diverse
musical artists from the famous and the not so famous league, met singer Kemy
on a studio session. Impressed by her amazing tonal qualities and expression
he invited her to contribute her vocal talents to some songs he wrote. Like
a marriage made in heaven her voice blended perfectly with Ike's double bass
and her emotional and sensual delivery of each song left no doubt as to the
voice of Quiet Fire. Over the next few months there was extensive searching
and experimentation to find the styles, instrumentation and sounds that would
enhance the already distinctive sound. As Quiet Fire's birthplace, London's
musical atmosphere, is rich with an abundance of diverse styles, sounds and
musicians, so it was difficult for Quiet Fire not to be affected by this.
The most amazing discovery centred
on how well the classical string section enhanced an already diverse set of
grooves ranging from drum and bass to rock.
