Two Special Players
Esben Tjalve
Esben, a native of Denmark, recently finished a 5 year studying stint at The Royal Academy of Music. Now in the process of establishing himself on the Jazz scene, he is fast becoming a busy sought after musician. He exhibits a natural fiery approach in his playing with a desire to discover, exploit and present every available avenue of musical expression before he decides to bring his solo to an end...........

Richard Spavens
.......A drummer of considerable style, flair and natural ability easily qualifies as one of the best on the London Jazz scene. The fact that he plays for Robert Mitchel is testament to the fact. An ability to create percussive colours, cross grooves and poly rhythms while keeping the pulse under tight control is the perfect recipe for a bright future. At the moment he is playing more hip hop with artists such as Ty, Mark de Clive Lowe, Four Heroes and notable American rappers Platinum Pied Pipers, but still keeping his Jazz in check.
The
only problem with playing with these guys is that makes you want to practice
harder and play more Jazz, which is not good if one desires the benefits
of a comfortable life.
