Distant Cousins actually started about 4 years with some recording of collaborations in the Pretap studio. But because of busy schedules a commitments, the project was put on hold for a while until opportunity for progression was possible. A musical concept that is difficult to define as can be experienced in the music. The musical path will change depending on the contributors at what ever moment in time or where the music is made and will no doubt keep evolving and developing. Distant Cousins live, are an exciting mix of African and Western culture that blend together to create beautiful music.

The Ike Leo Trio
The Ike Leo trio is basically an avenue for Ike to channel his Jazz energies. Stretching Jazz whenever possible as Ike is definitely not a Jazz purist and keeping the music enjoyable is of great importance in the Trio. On the Live Vibe, The Ike Leo Trio grooves, entertains and experiments. The recorded music the beginnings of which can be heard on Trio Music will be exploring different avenues of Jazz with many great Jazz and other musicians.

Acacia
A fusion band created by Ike Leo in the early 90s. The band consisted of some of Londons' finest musicians and were constantly stretching the compositions giving a more quirky and surprising edge but always with strong emphasis on the groove. Acacia played many gigs and festinvals in their heyday around London and the country but is no longer a working project.
Luckily however they recorded some classic videos, some with dancers to accompany their music and these videos look as fresh today as they did at inception. These are Fusion videos at their best.
Acacia's web presence is dedicated to the amazing tenor sax player Jerry Underwood who is no longer with us as he died a few years ago in France.
